Rain marred swimming sports – it was as wet outside the pool as it was in at the annual swimming sports held by Chipping Campden School at Broad Campden baths on Tuesday. By an unlucky coincidence, there was a torrential rainstorm almost as soon as the sports started, and the rain continued, often heavily, throughout the entire programme.

The swimming championship went to Fereby House with 284 points, Townsend coming second with 192 and Hicks third with 185.

Individual championships were: Upper boys: Tilbrook (F), Fairbanks (H) runner-up. Middle boys: Hopkins (F), Elliot (H) runner-up. Lower boys: Reynolds (H), Taylor (F) runner-up. Upper girls: D.Palmer (T) P.Cawkell (T) runner-up, Middle girls: P.Tilbrook (F), R.Leadbeter (F) runner-up. Lower girls: P.Merriman(F), J.Bright runner-up.
