Joan Dent 1916 – 2006.

Joan attended Warwick High School for girls until her family moved to Campden in the early 1930s whereupon she joined Campden Grammar School to finish her education, later becoming both a prefect & Townsend House Captain. She passed her School Certificate achieving a distinction in English.

Joan’s friend, Marjory Hancock used to cycle from Shipston on Stour to Campden Grammar School, and this being an unsatisfactory arrangement in bad weather, she thereafter lodged with Joan’s family in Campden. They remained life long friends.

In 1939 Joan married Bill Taylor & they had three daughters who all attended the school. In later life Joan passed ‘A’ levels in English & Sociology & went on to gain a degree with the Open university at the age of sixty-five.
